Writing Exam

I think learners should be expose to English. For example, learners learn CMC technology through blogs because probably many people watch blogs and some people comment in blogs. If Learners have chances, they should talk with native speakers in English and writing English in blog and so on. I think writing and speaking English are need to learners because I acquired writing skill in writing class because I wrote essay, book reviews and so on.

I am not good at writing words in English. So, I have faced challenges in writing class. Writing essays were most difficult things in writing class. But gradually I could write long essay. I think continual efforts are very important. When I could write long essay, gradually I became like writing blog.

My learning style is writing English in blog because I read books and wrote book reviews I also wrote essays. Then many people comment in my blog. I was happy.

Essay 2-02c: Languages Learning Stories

’m going to tell you about my languages experience from elementary school to university. I have learned Japanese, English, Spanish and Korean. When I was 7 years old, I leaned a foreign language for the first time. Foreign languages are difficult for me to understand because foreign languages are different from Japanese. However, I like to learn foreign languages.

I went to English conversation school for five years when I was an elementary school student. There was a English conversation school near my house. My teacher was Australian, and there were about ten people there. We studied about alphabet and English words there. We had Christmas parties, and they were the most interesting thing. We played games in English. Then, I only remember playing twister. I really enjoyed playing that game. I also had an English class in elementary school. I studied English words and many alphabets. I liked the class because the English teacher gave us candy every time. Of course, I studied Japanese. I memorized a lot of Chinese characters. I had difficulty with them.

When I was a junior high school student, I studied Japanese classics for the first time. I was poor my Japanese classics. It was difficult for me to understand them. I also had an English class and I studied English using some text books for the first time. I practiced self introduction in English, and studied English idioms and words. I had to recite two or three whole pages of a texts book about Guatemala. And I had to present it in front of the teacher.

When I was a high school student, I studied classical Chinese for the first time. I also studied Japanese classics. I didn’t like Japanese classics, but I like classical Chinese because I could understand stories. I memorized a lot of Japanese classics words. I had a test in classic class every class. When I made two mistakes replies, I had to do my homework. I took three hours doing the homework. I also had some English classes. I had English words test and had to prepare for lessons in Reading class every time. I was busy, but I liked English classes the best because, I liked an English teacher.

I study English in KGU now. I have reading, writing, listening and speaking classes. I like the course contents. For example, I read English papers in reading class, and I write my blog in English in writing class. I also have two Korean classes now. I have already memorized all Hangul alphabets. So, I can read Hangul. I like the Korean classes very much because it is so interesting. I want to become speak Korean. When I was first year in university, I studied Spanish. Thanks to the Spanish class, I could know about Spain and speak it a little.

I have learned various languages since I was born. I like English the best. So, I want to study English more and more. I also speak English with foreigner and want to speak fluent English. Thank you for reading my essay.

Rice Cake

I ate many rice cakes in New Year. I ate soybean flour, soy sauce and Anko rice cake. There are so delicious. I like them so much. I ate rice cake boiled with vegetables. It was so delicious, too. Today and yesterday morning, I also ate soybean flour rice cake. I am happy.

BR 2-18: The Monkey King

Monkey was the cleverest animal in China. He was the king of the monkeys, but he was not a good king. Because he was always stealing food demanding presents. In fact, Monkey caused so much trouble that people prayed to Heaven for help.

As summer drew to a close, the Empress of Heaven began to prepare for her yearly Peach Banquet. First, the Empress sent invitations to all the most important gods. Then, she told the cook to prepare his finest dishes. Lastly, she sent the Heavenly Fairies to pick the magic peaches. There are yellow and orange peaches on the tree. The fairies picked them. But on the oldest trees, they couldn't find peach.

After a long search, they spotted a single purple peach. A woman got peach. Then, Monkey appeared and rubbing his nose. The monkey said that that is my peach. The Empress needed it for her Peach Banquet. Monkey cast a spell and froze the Fairies to the spot.

As Monkey passed the banquet hall. He saw servants laying out food. When no one was looking, he snatched a plate and ducked into a cupboard. Inside, rows of bottles lined the shelves. He drank the drink.

Suddenly, he heard voices. Servants were coming to fetch the bottles. Monkey looking at the empty bottles. Then, he thought that time to get out of here. So, he got out there.

BR 2-17: Stories of Fairytale Castles

Flora lived in a cottage on the edge of a forest. There are many, many trees. She spent all her time helping others. For example, she baked bread and cakes for the villagers and helping injured animals, and cheered everyone up with her funny stories.

One morning, Flora walked into the forest to hunt for juicy berries for her cakes. But Flora realized she was lost. She didn't know which way to turn. Suddenly, she found herself in an enormous clearing. She went hire and higher, until she felt a wooden door. Flora pushed it open and gasped.

She could see a grand room full of loads and ladies each of them frozen like icy statues. Just then, a voice spoke. A young man stood in front of her. A witch cast a spell frozen loads and ladies. They were guests at his ball. But he didn't invite the witch, so she froze them. Then she made his castle walls invisible so no one could find him. The Prince helped Flora because he couldn't leave.

Flora took the Prince frozen hand and kissed it gently. At the moment, his guests sprang to life and the castle walls became visible once more. The happy couple invited everyone to their wedding at the castle including the local witches just in case.

BR 2-16: The Fish that Talked

Lang ago, in India, there was a young man named Manu. One day, Manu was wading in a stream. Then, a tiny fish swam into his hands. The fish sparkled with a silvery light. Then the tiny fish suddenly began to speak. The big fish wanted to eat the tiny fish. So, the tiny fish was helped by Manu.

He cupped his hands and carried the fish home. Then he put the fish into a jar of water and fed it with crumbs. Then it grew and grew until it was too big for the jar. So Manu took the fish to the well and fed it with bread. It grew and grew. So Manu carried the fish to the river. It still grew and grew and grew. The fish has no room to move. Now the fish was enormous.

The fish asked him for take me to the sea. Manu walked to the seashore and threw the fish into the sea. The fish said that it is my turn to help Manu. The fish also said that Manu must build a boat to save all living things because there is going to be a great flood. So, Manu built a huge boat and filled it with plants and animals.

Soon, dark clouds filled the sky. Then the rain came. It rained and rained, until water covered the land. Manu’s boat floated above the wave. The wind howled and waves crashed around the boat. He peered into the dark and saw a silvery light. It was the talking fish. The fish pulled the boat through the storm.

Suddenly, the fish changed to a man. The man said that I am Brahma, lord of all creatures. Brahma was a powerful god. The man said that I have saved Manu so he can rebuild the world and you will be its king. Brahma vanished in a flash of silvery light. Manu never saw Brahma again, but he never forgot what the god said. After the flood, he worked hard to rebuild the world. And he ruled wisely and well for the rest of his days.

Essay 2-03b: University Life

I am going tell you about my university life. I am a Kumamoto Gakuen University student. My class is the department of British and the United States. I am busy because I have a lot of classes. But I really enjoy my university life because I have a lot of friend and classes are interesting. There are good facilities in my university.

First, I have 15 classes now. I learn a lot of things that I have never known. Every class is attraction for me. I really enjoy take classes. However, I have a lot of homework. Probably, I have homework every day. So, I am very busy. I have trouble with writing homework because I’m not good at writing blog and use a computer. I think Writing blog is the difficult homework in all homework. I try to achieve goal.

Second, there are a lot of facilities in the university. Fore example, there are library, classroom, convenience store, book store, bakery and students dining hall in there. I often go to library and use a computer to do my homework. When I entered the university, I was surprised that there are convenience store, bakery and students dining hall. I often went to bakery and students dining hall when I was a freshman. Both are so delicious and there are many kinds. The university is also pleasant surroundings because there are a lot of air conditioners. I feel cool in summer, and I feel warm in winter.

Third, I like library the best because there are a lot of books, magazines, computers, news papers, CDs and DVDs. I think library is the most comfortable place in the university. When I had my vacant, I was watched DVDs with my friend in there. There are a lot of interesting DVDs. I like very, very much them. I like to watch comedy movies the best. I sometimes use English papers because I read English papers and have to make questions. I could read English papers after I entered the university. I also use computer to write my blog and reports. But sometimes I can’t a computer because many people use computers. Especially, computers are so popular before tests.

Forth, I could make a lot of new friends. My friends are so kind and interesting. They are attractive personality and I become smile every day. I think time flies when they are with friends. I like my friends so much. I also could see a lot of teachers. Especially, encounters with foreign teachers are powerful incentives for me to study harder. When I was a high school student, there is a foreigner teacher in my high school. I learn a lot of things from foreigner teachers. They are precious experience for me. So, I want to learn a lot of things from them more and more.

Finally, I think I lead a full life. University life is important for me now. I don’t have dreams yet. I study various things in the university, and I hope to decide a dream. I don’t have particular dream, but if possible, I want to work with using English. After I entered the university, I have a lot of chances to study English and I like English very much. So, I want to use English after graduation from the university. I study English in the university, and I try to get high marks on tests.

BR 2-15: Thumbelina

Once, there was a woman who wanted a child. She wanted one more than anything else in the world. At last, she went to a fairy for help. She put a magic seed in a flower pot. Then the seed grew into a beautiful red-gold flower. When the woman bent and kissed it, the petals of the flower began to open. Inside was a tiny girl. The woman called the tiny girl Thumbelina.

One night, a large, lumpy toad crept through the open window. She snatched Thumbelina as she slept. Her son grinned and gazed at Thumbelina, happily. Thumbelina woke to see four large eyes, blinking at her. Then a large webbed hand reached for her. Mother toad wanted meet Thumbelina’s future husband. But, Thumbelina didn’t want to marry a toad.

The toads left for food and the fish swam closer. They nibbled and nibbled at the water lily. Then, it was swished away by the stream. Thumbelina floated for days. A beetle dropped her in a field. Swallow swooped and dived around her, so she never felt alone. Then winter came and the swallows left. Then a field mouse came to her. She took Thumbelina back to her snug little home.

Then, Thumbelina went to with a mole down a dark tunnel. In the middle of the tunnel lay a bird. If swallows don’t fly away for winter, they die of cold. The night, Thumbelina covered him with a carpet of hay. She thought he is dead. But when she put her head on his breast, she heard him voice. The swallow flew up out of the tunnel and soared into the sky, alone.

She went to say goodbye to the sky one last time. She climbed on his back. At last, they came to a blue lake. A dazzling white palace stood on its sunny shore. The swallow set Thumbelina down in a large white flower. A tiny man stood in the flower. He had a gold crown and pale butterfly wings. He took off his crown and gave it to Thumbelina. Thumbelina promised that she stay with the tiny man and be Queen of Flowers.

BR 2-14: The Mouse's Wedding

This story is about father mouse, mother mouse, the sun, a cloud, the wind, a wall and a handsome young mouse. Once there was a family of mice. The family is father mouse, mother mouse and little miss mouse. And then one day, miss mouse wasn’t so little anymore. Father mouse thought it is time miss mouse got married.

The family went to journey. Father thought we must find miss mouse the best, most powerful husband in the world. Father mouse thought for moment. The sun is the best because he makes our days bright and warm, and helps the flowers grow. The moment mouse family climbed a high mountain to ask sun. Father thought sun is more powerful than anyone else in the world, but the sun doesn’t think so because cloud can cover sun’s face, and block all his light and warmth. There’s nothing he can do.


Then, the family thought we must talk to the cloud. The family talked the cloud. Father said to the cloud that he is more powerful than anyone else in the world, but the cloud doesn’t think so because wind can push cloud around, this way and that way. There’s nothing he can do.

Then, the family thought we must talk to the wind. The family talked the wind. Father said to wind that he is more powerful than anyone else in the world, but the wind doesn’t think so because the wind can blow where he like, but when he meet a wall, there’s nothing he can do.

Then, the family talked the wall. Father said to wall that he is more powerful than anyone else in the world, but the wall doesn’t think so because he may look strong and tall, but he can feel a little mouse, nibbling him to dust. There’s nothing he can do.

There was a mousehole and a handsome young mouse. Father said to the mouse that he is more powerful than anyone else in the world. Everyone thought he is the most powerful man. So, the mice were married next to the wall.

My Favorite Way to Spend The New Year

My favorite way to spend the New Year is eating osechi and ozouni. I eat them every year. They are so delicious. I like The New Year because I get New Year’s gift. I get them by a lot of people. I can get them until graduation from university.

My family spends The New Year in Kagoshima. But this year, we can’t go my grand parent’s house of Kagoshima. We can’t pass high way because it was snow. So, we can’t see face of my grand parents.

I went to grand parent’s house of Kawachi. I saw cousins. I have 11 cousins. I got The New Year’s gift there. I ate a lot of food. I spend enjoy time there.

My Favorite Pass Time

My favorite pastime is watching illumination, eating, watching stars and playing soccer.

I like watching illumination very much. So, I like Christmas season. When Christmas season starts, I can see illuminations in many places. I like watching stars very much, too. So, I often watch stars. When I finish playing soccer, I watch stars. The stars are so beautiful. I went to Pet cemetery with my friends, and we watch stars and night view. They are so beautiful and moved me.

I also like eating. Probably, I don’t have dislike food. I eat everything. I like tomato the best. I also like playing soccer. When I play soccer, I fell happy. I have hard things sometimes, but I like soccer the best in my life.
